SCCM 2012 – Using PowerShell as detection method for application.

Here is an example to use a short PowerShell script as a detection method. Here I use a WMI query to check the version of the SCCM 2012 client.

$version = (Get-WmiObject -namespace root\ccm -class sms_client).ClientVersion

IF ($version -eq “5.00.7958.1203”) { return $true }

ELSE { return }

If the version equals 5.00.7958.1203 then True is returned, else nothing is returned.
